I'm not usually much of a conspiracy theorist, but I came across this video today on Google videos. It is a documentary that provides a lot of compelling evidence that the 9/11 terrorist attacks were not actually terrorist attacks, but instead were carried out perhaps by our own government. In the documentary, they provide evidence that a plane did not really even hit the Pentagon, that flight 93 did not actually crash in rural Pennsylvania, and that the World Trade Center towers were not brought down by the airplanes that crashed into them, but rather that they were brought down by explosives in a controlled demolition.
Like I said, it is kind of long, but I think it is well worth the time to find an hour and a half and sit down and watch this and then decide for yourself what you think. I personally think that I will have to look into it a little more before I make my own decision about what happened that day, but I think that this is certainly important to consider. If what this documentary says is true, then it means that a lot of people are getting away with the crime of a century.

Watched the first 45 minutes so far. I'm not much for conspiracy theories, but you're right, they make some pretty compelling arguments. I wish I knew the science better, because a lot of what they're saying seems to hinge on that.
Yea, that was well worth the time for me to watch and consider.
I always hesitate to put too much effort into considering any polemic, unless I can evaluate the opposing points of view for each of the points being made. It is always easy to assemble an impressive expository when it is one-sided. BUT ... this was pretty straight forward stuff - just lots of the details that are so easy to hide in a sufficiently high noise level,
I tend to prefer the conspiracy theory option in many cases - call me jadded or a skeptic, but I think that most people in extreme power are most like to be deeply corrupt. And the megalomania currently being exhibited by the american war and world-building machine is sickeningly consistent. So as utterly unfathomable as it seems when you consider theories like this, there sure seems to be ample evidence in history to leave you feeling like something of this staggering a magnitude could have been perpetrated on us all. Leaves you feeling really sick to be an American, thinking that we could be the group of humans putting up with being led thru this type of world, by this type of vision and leadership. You are what you eat, the old saying goes. (and we are all just bellying up for a steady diet of this sort of treatment at the hands of a few that are spoon-feeding us all their chosen version of some reality. We the puppets .... Sickening indeed ...

Ya know... I watched this and it was really convincing.
But, I have to doubt it alot, when I ask myself:
"Couldn't a government that is capable of a conspiracy of vast proportions, this intricate, this thought out, this sinister, also be able to plant WMDs in Iraq so they don't end up looking like a bunch of blundering idiots?"
Basically, I think if the government could do this, they wouldn't have botched up so many things afterwords.
Sure - but it seems to be all about playing on Average Joe's fear. So it is actually better FUD factor to have not (yet) found the WMDs that it would have been to have them magically materialize. If they had been found, then something NEW to fear would need to be conjured up. Since they can conceivably *still be out there, waiting for some (any) other crazed messiah to get their hands on, NOW we can live in uncertainty, which makes it easier to sell us more of the koolaid.
Cause you know, now that Britian has clearly shown that they are better at catching the bad guys than we are, you know what has to happen now .... right? We are gonna have to go in there and topple that government of thiers, for everyone's good .... We cant have the UK upstaging us, now can we ...
